FDMA vs TDMA vs CDMA

This article is purely technical, without any introduction. The reason is that the theme is just popped up in one of my courses and i decided to dive deeper into it.

So, how to we communicate with each other ?

Right – phones.

How phones interact with each other?

Right – waves

How can we make those interactions do not interfere with each other ?

Well, that is the topic)

There are some basic (I hope so) algorithms

FDMA – Frequency Division Multiple Access

We divide the available frequency spectrum into multiple narrow frequency bands. Each band is then allocated to an individual user, allowing simultaneous transmission and reception

TDMA – Time Division Multiple Access

We divide the available frequency spectrum into time slots. Each user is assigned one or more time slots, during which they can transmit their data.

CDMA – Code Division Multiple Access

We use unique codes to differentiate users instead of dividing the spectrum into separate frequency or time slots.
